Calm in the Storm

Calm in the Storm      

A sparrow is busy building a nest.

Grass, branches, sticks, create a warm home.

The sweet bird sits and takes time to rest.

Calm in the storm.

A Canvasback floats along the shore. 

Silently coasting on the waves with grace. 

Diving for food and fun never worried if there is more.

Calm in the storm. 

Daffodil stems emerge strong and proud.

Finding their way to the light and air.

The Joy of the yellow burst abounds. 

Calm in the storm.

A child lives in a different realm.

Dancing, jumping, and playing, with Joy. 

Above the fray, chaos, and chatter like a strong elm.

Calm in the storm. 

I mirror their essence.  Calm in the storm.
