Embracing The Pause

Today I embrace the Pause. 

We have a gift. We have permission to pause and just be. We are stripped of society's definition of ourselves (teacher, hair dresser, sales person). We are stripped of going, doing, attaining. The thought of just being may be scarier than any illness. 

Sitting quietly, eyes closed and listening to breath for 5 minutes can transform your day. Thank the distracting thoughts that come in; after all your amazing brain was meant to think. Treat the thoughts like a baby and place them gently in the crib. You will be able to get back to them in 5 minutes. Inner calm and joy is a choice. Fear and worry will have a difficult time getting in when calm and joy are present. 

We can help our neighbors, children, elders better from a place of calm.
