Changing Your Perspective In This Challenging Time

Perspective!

Can we change the lens on how we see what is happening now in the world?

Can we see this experience as happening for us, not to us?

Wait! What? How can this possibly be happening for me?

Let me explain …

Maybe we have been saying or thinking I wish I had more time to …

 “be with my family.”

“ write my blog.”

“write my book.”

“declutter my office.”

“start an exercise routine.”

“start meditating.”

“Learn Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn.”

“get my marketing program off the ground.”

“connect with my clients in a meaningful way.”

“learn to cook.”

“organize my closet.”

… well now you do!

Yes, we may be staying at home, but we have a home, we have the internet, we have laptops, we have food and a refrigerator. We have money to pay for these things. Not to be dramatic, but many people do not. We have time to be with our children, play games, do puzzles, read to them. We even have time to connect with our adult children who we never thought would be living with us at age 25! We have permission to take a pause, reevaluate and build a new way of selling, marketing, and connecting.

If you do not have to commute, or your sales have come to a slow halt, now this time is for you.  This pause is for you. We can take a breath, take stock in what we do have.

“But Lori,” I hear you say, “My high school senior has missed out on all activities and they are sad.”  Yes, this is sad, and they have every right to feel sad.  Maybe through their sadness there is a book, a blog, a great song, creative ideas to celebrate anyway.  (I have seen some amazing graduation ceremonies and now the Juniors want the same thing see Plymouth, MA.)

My perspective each day: “Things are always working out for me.”
